Bolette Louise Sig Mathiasen opened Boutique BOLOU in 2006, where she offered her customers jewelery of her own design, as well as jewelery from selected Italian jewelery brands, which she had become acquainted with during her time in Italy.
The family company FOPE in particular was a large part of Boutique BOLOU from the beginning and BOLOU is still the sole distributor of the brand in Scandinavia to this day.
Our boutique was expanded in 2017 with the help of the renowned master jeweler and designer Jochen W. Neustädter, who at the same time joined BOLOU as workshop manager and designer. Bolette has since, in collaboration with the entire team, further developed our identity, where jewelery made from natural materials, unique gemstones and craftsmanship of the highest quality are at the centre.
Since the store and workshop were expanded and reopened in 2017, our team has tripled in size and in 2020 a new online universe was created where it is possible to explore the jewelry from both FOPE and our own collections.
BOLLETTE
Bolette Louise Sig Mathiasen grew up north of Copenhagen in a family of entrepreneurs. Here she stood out as the creative soul with an eagerness for experiences.
It was this zeal and longing that brought Bolette to Italy where she found her love for jewelry and thus the first step was taken towards a long and distinguished career in the jewelry industry.
Through 17 years spent abroad, Bolette has, among other things, trained as a goldsmith, designer and stone setter in Italy, as well as as a gemmologist at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in New York. Thus, she is also a specialist in diamonds, colored gemstones and pearls, just as she has assembled a massive portfolio of international diamond and gemstone suppliers.
After the many years abroad, Bolette chose to move back to Denmark and in 2006 opened her own shop with associated goldsmith's workshop in Charlottenlund, where she could combine her jewelery skills with the desire to be closer to her family and horses, which have always been close to her heart .
